Question about the guy at the Springfield flea market who sold me 40 Genesis carts for $30
Two summers back I was digging through a milk crate at the flea market off Sunshine Street in Springfield, and this older guy behind the table kept watching me. I had pulled out maybe 12 loose Genesis carts when he said "you want the whole box or just them?" I laughed and said depends on the price. He thought for a second and said forty bucks, then dropped it to thirty when I didn't answer right away. I handed him the cash and he tossed in a beat up Model 1 console that I figured was dead. Got home, cleaned the pins with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol, and it fired up on the first try. Half the carts were sports junk but there were two copies of Gunstar Heroes and a CIB Landstalker in there. So here's what I keep going back and forth on: was he just clearing space and didn't care, or did he know exactly what he had and wanted it going to someone who'd actually play it? Curious if you all think flea market sellers like that are clueless or just being generous on purpose.
