That $5 Steam game I ignored for 2 years is now my favorite thing
I picked up Hollow Knight during a summer sale back in 2021 for like 5 bucks because everyone said it was good but I just never got around to it. Last month my internet went down for three days straight and I finally loaded it up out of boredom. Man was I wrong to sleep on it. The controls feel so tight and the map design is insane for something that probably cost less than a fast food meal. I sunk 40 hours into it before I even realized what was happening lol. Now I'm kicking myself for not playing it sooner and wondering what other cheap games I've got sitting in my library that I'm ignoring. Anyone else have a game you bought on sale ages ago and only just now discovered it's actually amazing?

the controls feel so tight" - this right here is what got me too lol. I bought Stardew Valley for like 10 bucks during a random sale years ago and never touched it til a snow day last winter. Ended up playing it for like 6 hours straight and now it's my comfort game. It's crazy how we sleep on these cheap gems just because they're cheap, right? Makes me wonder what else is hiding in my backlog too.

You ever notice we treat cheap games like they don't deserve our time? I did the same with Terraria for ages, bought it for like $2 and let it rot for three years. Now I've got 200 hours in it and it's easily my most played game on Steam. It really makes you question why we always chase the $60 titles first when these little games have so much more heart. What's the next cheap gem you're gonna finally load up from your backlog?
