I finally picked a monitor stand over a dual arm mount
I was stuck between a simple single pole stand and a fancy dual arm for 2 weeks. Went with the stand because my desk is only 48 inches wide and the arms would have eaten up too much space. Cable routing was way easier than I thought, has anyone else regretted going with an arm on a smaller desk?

Ha @ivanl76 totally called it with the elbow wars, my buddy tried a dual arm on his 55 inch desk and ended up elbowing his drink off the desk twice in one day. Swapped to a single pole stand like yours and said it was the best desk move he ever made.

Man, I swear half the battle with a small desk is just trying to keep your mouse from falling off the edge. My buddy went with a dual arm on a 45 inch desk and now his keyboard sits at a weird angle because the arms are basically fighting for space. Cable routing being a breeze is a huge win, my own setup has cables that look like a spaghetti monster threw up behind the monitor. You dodged a bullet in my opinion, those arms are great for big desks but on anything under 50 inches it's a constant game of elbow wars.
