I finally realized my monitor was way too high after 3 years
I always set my monitor so the top was at eye level because I read that somewhere. Last week my neck started hurting bad after a 6 hour session. My friend who does ergonomics for an office in Portland came over and said my screen needs to be an arm's length away and centered below eye level. He showed me the 90 degree elbow test and everything felt way more natural in 10 minutes. Has anyone else been using bad monitor height tips from outdated guides?

Yeah I fell for that same top of screen at eye level thing for years. My neck was wrecked before I switched to having the center of the screen lower down. Took me way too long to realize the old advice was just wrong for how long we actually sit at desks now.

Read an article recently that said our necks are basically designed to look down, not straight ahead like a superhero. @david_henderson6 sounds like you figured out the hard way what a lot of us are just starting to learn.
