Just hit 72 inches of desk space and it's the sweet spot for me

I finally measured my new setup after adding a second monitor and some speakers. That extra 12 inches gave me room for my coffee mug without knocking things over. What's the magic desk length that works for your gear?

Wonder what you ended up doing with the old 60 inch desk? Did you repurpose it or just toss it out? I keep thinking I need to downsize because my 72 inch setup feels like I'm swimming in it, but then I remember I got it for a reason. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the depth matters more than the width for fitting that coffee mug and not hitting the monitor.

Funny you mention that, because I used to swear by 60 inches and thought anything bigger was overkill. But then I added more gear and realized that extra length totally changes how you can actually use the space without everything feeling cramped. Now I'm fully converted, that 72 inch mark really does hit the sweet spot for keeping your coffee safe!
