Pro tip: Tried using zip ties on my desk cables and regretted it

Last month I was setting up a new desk from IKEA and thought zip ties would be the fastest way to clean up all the wires. pulled them tight and everything looked great for about two days. Then I had to swap out my keyboard cable and realized I had to cut every single one off with scissors. Now I have little plastic nubs stuck in places and scratches on the desk. Has anyone found a good way to manage cables that still lets you change things out easy?

Zip ties are meant for permanent setups, not for stuff you swap out all the time. A roll of velcro cable straps costs like five bucks and lets you undo and redo everything in seconds without any tools. Just saying, sounds like the tool wasn't the problem, it was the job you picked for it.

Friend tried that with zip ties on his PC cables, ended up cutting the wrong one and wrecked a fan header.
