Just spent 4 hours trying to dial in my offset smoker temp

I was aiming for 225 and it kept bouncing between 200 and 250 no matter what I did with the dampers. Finally figured out I had a tiny crack in the firebox door letting air in, wasted a whole afternoon on something so simple. Anyone else ever chase a temp issue forever before finding the obvious fix?

Oh man, that's rough. Did the crack end up being in the weld seam or the actual metal of the door itself?

Oh man, that's a good question... didn't check the weld seam first, which now seems dumb. It was actually a hairline crack in the metal itself, right near the bottom hinge. @fox.jesse, you ever had that happen? I swear the door had to be at least 15 years old, but still... feels like the metal just gave up on life.
