A 9-year-old gave me a whole new reason to keep picking up bottle caps
Last Saturday at Galveston, this kid watching us sort trash asked why we bothered since more always washes in. Then he said, "but if you grab the caps, the crabs can't get stuck in them," and honestly that one line got me. Now I do a second pass just for caps and rings, and I swear it makes the whole day feel way more important.
Wait, doesnt the ocean just wash the caps back in and undo all that work anyway? I get the crab thing is sweet, but seems like youre fighting a losing battle that the tide literally owns.
