PSA: I spent 45 minutes last Tuesday chasing a phantom shifting problem on a customer's bike before I found the real culprit
The cassette lockring was loose by maybe a quarter turn, which let the whole cassette wiggle just enough under load to make it ghost shift, and I only caught it because I grabbed the cogs to check for play on a hunch, so how do you all handle loose lockrings when the torque felt fine on the bench?

Man, that phantom stuff will eat your whole day. Been there more times than I care to admit, and it is always something dumb like a lockring that felt snug with the wrench but let go the second you put real power down. What I started doing is grabbing the cassette and trying to rock it side to side before it even hits the stand, just a quick habit check. Saved me a lot of gray hair since.
