Honking at me won't make the hill shorter, buddy
Some guy in a truck laid on his horn for a full 10 seconds while I was grinding up the Spring Street climb last Tuesday, like I was just being lazy instead of fighting a 12% grade. I get that bikes are slow, but I've seen the same driver stuck behind a school bus for 5 minutes, so maybe we both have our moments. Any other commuters get yelled at for just existing on a road with a bike lane?

Spring Street is no joke, especially that stretch right after the light where it kicks up. Tbh though, I ride that hill a lot and I kinda get why drivers lose it sometimes. You're moving slow, they're stuck behind you with no room to pass, and their view of what's actually happening is pretty limited from inside a truck. Doesn't excuse the horn, but I've found taking the full lane for like 10 seconds at the steepest part makes it way less dangerous, and most drivers back off once they see you're not just dinking around.
