I saw a stat from a commuter survey over in Portland that said about 6 out of 10 people who start biking to work stop within 12 months, and one side says it's because cheap bikes and bad lights make it miserable while the other side swears it's just people not committing when it rains. My own run is 4 miles each way and the first month nearly broke me, but a $40 rain jacket and a rear rack fixed almost everything. So which is it, does the quitting come from bad setup or from folks giving up too easy?
