Finally finished The Leftovers after three false starts

I kept bouncing off the first episode for like 2 years. Last week I forced myself through episode 3 and suddenly it clicked hard. Now I'm weirdly emotional and nobody I know has seen it so I can't talk about it. Anyone else have a show that took a few tries before it grabbed you?

grantl94's "wasting two years" hits close to home. I did the same thing with Dark, the German time travel show. Tried watching episode 1 like three separate times, kept getting lost with all the characters and gave up. Then one day I was sick on the couch and just let it play through. By episode 4 I was hooked so bad I watched the rest in a weekend. Now I tell everyone to give it until episode 3 before quitting. There's something about shows that make you work a little at first, once you break through that wall they hit way harder than stuff that grabs you right away. At least with The Leftovers you got there eventually, better late than never.

Took me three tries to get past the first episode too, now I'm just mad at myself for wasting two years.
