Rewatching The Wire at 35 vs. watching it at 22 is a totally different show
I first binged The Wire back in college around 2010 and thought it was just about cops and drug dealers. Last month I rewatched it on HBO Max and realized it's actually about broken systems and how everyone's trapped in them. The difference was I paid attention to the city budget stuff and the dock workers this time, not just the shootouts. Anyone else find that shows hit way harder when you've got real work experience under your belt?

The dock workers storyline put me to sleep at 22, now it's the best part of season 2.
