The way I used to binge watch shows back in 2015 is completely different from how I do it now

Back then I would watch one episode a night, like a normal person. I'd finish a whole season over a month or two. Then I got laid off from my job at the auto plant in 2018 and suddenly had all this free time. That's when I started burning through entire seasons in a weekend. Now I have a rule where I won't start a new show unless I can commit to at least 3 episodes in one sitting. It changed my whole viewing rhythm. Does anyone else find themselves rewatching the same comfort shows instead of starting new ones because the commitment feels too big?

I get that "commitment feels too big" thing for sure. I re-watched The Office all the way through 4 times last year because starting something new felt like a chore. Now I just keep the same 5 shows on a loop and call it a day.

See that a lot with people I work with too, @lane.drew - once they find a brand of boots or a tool that works, they stick with it forever instead of trying something new. Easiest path just feels safer when you're already tired from everything else.
