Everyone says to put stickers on the glass but that made my problem way worse
Last Tuesday in Portland, I put up those UV decals everyone recommends, spaced 4 inches apart like the box said. By Friday, I had 3 separate strikes, a robin and two juncos. I think the birds saw the gaps as clear flight paths and aimed for them. Now I've taken them all down and just keep the screens on year round, zero hits since. Has anyone else found that the sticker method backfired?

That's really interesting to hear. I always figured the sticker trick was a sure thing, but your experience makes a lot of sense. If birds see a pattern, they might just try to thread the needle between the dots. Keeping the screens up is a simple fix that clearly works better for you. It's good to see a real world test of these ideas.
