Heard a guy at the hardware store say he just puts up a single hawk sticker and calls it good
Made me wonder if those basic decals are even enough, or if we need to cover more of the glass surface to really stop the strikes, what's your take on the coverage percentage that actually works?

That one sticker is like putting a single traffic cone in the middle of a highway and expecting all the cars to swerve. Might work for one confused bird, but the rest are just gonna see a clear path to a fake sky. Gotta cover way more glass than that, or you're just giving the birds a target to aim for.

That guy's sticker is basically just a tiny warning sign for a bird flying full speed. Research shows you need patterns spaced close together, like every two inches, to actually break up the whole reflection of sky and trees. A single decal in the middle of a big window leaves way too much clear glass for a bird to think it can fly through. It's about creating a visual barrier they can see, not just a single object to avoid. Covering at least 80 percent of the glass with closely spaced dots or stripes is what really works to stop the crashes.
