Hot take: those feather decals are useless and I proved it last spring
I had 3 decals on my big sliding door and still got 2 strikes in one week. Walked around my house and counted dead bugs on the panes - there were like 20 spots. Switched to those UV reflective dots, the ones that look clear to us but glow for birds. Put em 4 inches apart across all my big windows, cost me like 30 bucks total. Not a single strike in 6 months now. Anyone else ditch the decals for something that actually works?

3 decals and still got 2 strikes" - sounds like you bought the decorative kind that just look nice to us humans. I swear those things are just bird magnets in disguise.

Honestly, I gotta push back a little there. Those cheap plastic ones from the hardware store are pretty useless yeah, but the good UV reflective ones actually work if you space them close together, like every 2 feet. The key is cleaning them every few months, they get dirty and lose the reflection that birds actually see. Ngl, I've seen a real drop in hits after I put those on my patio doors.
