Remember when we just taped paper to the glass?

About five years back, I dropped nearly $200 on a roll of that fancy collision tape you cut into strips. It felt like a big deal at the time, like I was finally doing it right. The stuff worked great for a season, but then the sun baked it and it left a sticky mess that took me an hour to clean. Now I just use those cheap window clings from the dollar store, and honestly, they work just as well. Has anyone else moved away from the pricier fixes to something simpler?

Yeah, that "melted into glue" stage is the worst. I had the same thing happen, and the goo even took some paint off my window frame. Now I just wet the glass a bit before I put the clings up, and they stick all winter without any of that permanent damage.

Wasted money on that same fancy tape. Felt like a genius until it melted into glue. Spent more time scraping windows than putting them up. Now I grab the two dollar pack of clings every fall. They peel right off, no fuss. Sometimes the cheap way is just the better way.

Ever try the clings @mason_knight mentioned on a really old window?
