Shoutout to the guy who told me to stop hoarding board game expansions
I had like 6 unopened expansions for Spirit Island piling up on my shelf, and some random at a game cafe told me I was just collecting dust, not playing. I finally cracked one open last week and realized half the modules were stuff I didn't even enjoy - anyone else ever been guilty of buying expansions you never touch?

Oh man, I read something recently about how board game companies basically DESIGN expansions to make you feel like you're missing out if you don't buy them. It's like FOMO in a box! I had the same thing happen with my copy of Agricola - I bought both expansions and then realized the base game already has like a MILLION cards. The whole "more content is always better" thing is a trap. Sometimes the core game is already really good and adding expansions just makes it a cluttered mess. I finally sold both of mine on eBay for half what I paid, but at least someone else will actually PLAY them.

Buddy of mine bought all the Scythe expansions at once and never opened a single one. He sold the whole pile two years later for half price, still in shrink wrap.
