I finally compared audiobooks vs physical reading for my book club pick
Last month my book club argued over whether to do 'Project Hail Mary' as audio or print. I read the first 100 pages in print and then switched to audio for the middle section. The audio version with the narrator doing the alien voice actually made the science parts click way better for me. Has anyone else found that certain books just work better in one format over the other for group discussion?

That audiobook totally changed how I felt about the science stuff too. Usually I zone out with hard sci-fi but the audio made it way more fun somehow. For book club discussions I actually think audio brings more people in because they can listen during chores or drives. But then you lose the ability to flip back and highlight quotes for discussion which is a real bummer. My group ended up doing a mix where some people listened and some read print and it worked out pretty well. Does your book club have a rule about format or do you just let everyone choose?
