My book club vote got overturned by a text from 2019
Last month I picked 'The Vanishing Half' for our group in Austin, and everyone agreed until one member pulled up a 2019 group chat where I'd called it 'overhyped.' Suddenly we spent 45 minutes debating if past-me should count, and now we have a standing rule: no recommendations from before 2021. Has anyone else had an old opinion come back to haunt them at a meeting?

Reading habits change, people change. 45 minutes on a book club rule is a waste of everyone's time.
