My jade plant drooped for 2 weeks before I figured out the real problem
I had this jade plant on my kitchen windowsill that suddenly got all limp and sad looking. I watered it more, then less, even moved it to a different spot. After 2 weeks of watching it get worse, I finally noticed the pot had no drainage hole. The roots were basically swimming in old water. I repotted it into a terra cotta pot with proper drainage holes and it bounced back in about 5 days. Has anyone else had a plant go downhill from something as dumb as a pot without holes?

Did you check the roots when you repotted it? Were they all brown and mushy or still mostly white?

@the_ruby that's the first thing I always look for when something goes wrong after a repot. Brown and mushy roots mean root rot and you gotta cut them all off or the plant is done for. If they were still firm and white then the problem is probably something else like soil staying too wet or not enough drainage holes in the pot. Did you check if the pot had proper drainage before you put the plant back in? That missing detail changes everything about what advice you need next.

Four drainage holes and still got rot because the soil mix was too heavy.
