I hit my $10k emergency fund and I'm not happy about it

Everyone acts like hitting a savings milestone is all sunshine but I'm sitting here annoyed because it took me cutting out literally everything fun for two years. Did anyone else feel kinda bitter about what you gave up just to reach a number?

That bittersweet feeling makes total sense (and nobody seems to talk about it). Two years of cutting everything fun out is a huge sacrifice, even if the end result is technically a win. You earned that $10k but it also cost you a lot more than just money.

Recognize that feeling way too well. After my own two year grind I realized I'd lost touch with almost everyone who didn't share my exact goal. Took another year to rebuild those relationships and find a new normal that wasn't just "work or don't work." My advice is to start small with stuff that costs nothing like hiking or board games with friends. The money will still be there but the people and experiences won't wait around forever.
