That $40 grocery delivery fee really stung until I did the math

I live in Denver and last month I realized I was spending around $35 a week on grocery delivery fees and tips because I just got lazy about going to the store. One week I forgot to order and ended up walking to Safeway in the snow to grab basics, and I noticed the total was way lower than what I'd been paying through the app. When I added up my receipts from the past two months, I had spent over $280 just on delivery fees and tips alone. That was completely blowing my grocery budget. So I made a rule that I only order delivery once every two weeks for the heavy stuff, and I walk or bike for the small trips in between. My grocery bill dropped by about $60 a month and I'm actually getting more steps in. Has anyone else had to reset their habits around delivery services to make the numbers work?

Saw a study saying delivery fees add up to $600 a year for most people.

Man @john430 that's wild, I spend more on impulse pizza toppings than that in a year just trying new combos haha.
