Chat with a coworker about my habit tracker changed my mind
I was showing my bullet journal to a guy named Dave at lunch last Tuesday. He pointed at my habit tracker and said 'you track sleep and water but not your mood?' I told him I never thought about it. So I added a simple mood column last Wednesday with just smiley faces. Now I can see how my sleep connects to how I feel the next day. Has anyone else added something simple to their tracker late in the year?

November was when I added a "daily highlight" slot to mine, and it changed everything for me. Honestly, I think mood tracking can backfire if you're not careful, all those smiley faces can make you feel like you're performing wellness instead of actually feeling it. I'd rather pay attention to specific things like sleep or exercise because they're facts I can act on, not feelings I have to judge. The data from those concrete habits is enough to clue me in on how I'm doing, without the extra pressure of rating my own mood every single night. But hey, if smiley faces help Dave sleep better at night, more power to him, right?

Mood tracking was the missing piece for me too. Added it in October and realized my grumpy days almost always follow nights I slept less than 6 hours. It's wild how the data just stares back at you once you start.
