Noticed something odd at my local coffee shop's bullet journal display
Stopped by that new cafe on 5th street last weekend and saw they have a whole shelf of bullet journal supplies now. Honestly, half the notebooks were those cheap wirebound ones with terrible paper that bleeds through with a medium nib pen. The girl at the counter said they sell out fast though, so people must not care about ghosting as much as this sub does. Anyone else find it weird how popular bujo has gotten even with low quality gear?

Did you actually flip through one of those wirebounds to see if the paper weight is listed anywhere? I feel like anything under 80gsm is basically a gamble with anything wetter than a ballpoint.

oh come on, is paper weight really that big of a deal? like, unless you're using a fountain pen with some super wet ink, 70gsm handles a ballpoint just fine. i've used cheaper notebooks for years and never had anything bleed through bad enough to care.
