PSA: the 5 minute fix I skipped on my BuJo that cost me 3 spreads
I used to write every entry in pen and never set up a key or an index, and it caught up to me fast. Two Saturdays ago I flipped through 4 months of daily logs trying to find a birthday reminder I know I wrote down, and after 20 minutes I gave up because nothing matched. The problem is not the pen, it is that there is no signpost, so your own notes turn into a junk drawer you dread opening. Now I spend 5 minutes at the start of each month numbering pages and updating the index, and I have not lost a single task since. Does anyone here skip the index too, or am I the only one who thought it was optional?
Oh sure, and next you'll tell me you alphabetize your spice rack too. I did the exact same thing for almost a year, just scribbling entries wherever they landed like my notebook was a napkin. Funny how a 5 minute habit only feels worth doing after you've already wasted an afternoon digging through your own mess.
