One stranger's 'too busy' comment killed my whole sticker layout
Some guy at a flea market in Phoenix said my best design had too much going on, so I cut the text from 14 words down to 5 and suddenly sold 3 times as many, has anyone else had a harsh drop like that actually improve their work?
Damn, that's wild! Okay so I gotta ask, what made you actually listen to that random dude? Like most people would've told him to buzz off, especially at a flea market of all places. Was there something about how he said it that clicked, or were you already kinda wondering if it was too cluttered? I'm curious because it's so easy to hear criticism and just get defensive, but you clearly didn't. Also, did you keep the same font and colors, or did you change those too when you cut the words? Because I feel like that could be the real lesson here, not just less text. Really makes me wonder how many of my own designs are just me being too attached to my own words, you know?
