Last month in our Charlotte warehouse, we kept messing up orders because pickers were grabbing stock that was mid-count. I set a rule that no inventory changes happen after 5 PM so the night crew reads a stable sheet, and our error rate dropped from 12% to 3% in two weeks. Has anyone else tried a cutoff time for stock updates, or do you just live with the chaos?

Laughing at myself because my "cutoff time" is basically whenever I forget to update the spreadsheet, which happens around 2 PM most days. I tried a hard 5 PM rule once, but my night crew just started texting me pictures of empty shelves asking if they could count them anyway. Now I just walk around after dinner and fix whatever I can, and honestly my error rate is more like a coin flip. You've got way more discipline than me, and I'm a little jealous.
