Shoutout to the $25 router bit I swore I'd never use

Used to always go with low-end bits from the big box store, figured they'd all cut the same. After replacing my 4th straight bit in 6 months on a job in St. Paul, I dropped $25 on a single Whiteside bit. That thing's still sharp after 50 sheets of plywood. Anyone else find certain tools worth paying more for?

Yeah, cheap bits teach you that lesson eventually.

The hidden cost nobody talks about is the time you waste constantly swapping them out. Cheap bits might save you a few bucks up front but they cost you twice as much in frustration on the job site. Ever had one snap mid cut and ruin your whole rhythm?

Right, because who needs a bit that lasts longer than a grocery run?
