Harness looms beat zip ties for my car amp install in Phoenix
Spent a whole Saturday fighting zip ties that kept slipping and cutting into the carpet, then grabbed a $8 split loom kit and routed the power and RCA cables separate, way cleaner and easier to pull through the firewall, has anyone else switched to loom over individual ties?
Honestly, I gotta push back on this. Zip ties might be ugly but they're way easier to fix if you need to move a wire later. With a split loom, you're basically committing to that exact route, and if you need to swap out an RCA cable or add a second power wire, you're pulling the whole thing apart again. Plus, in Phoenix heat, that plastic loom gets brittle and cracks after a couple summers, I've seen it happen in my own truck. Zip ties you can just snip and redo in five minutes, no drama.
