Spent 40 minutes hunting one dead USB cord in my drawer
I needed a spare charger for my phone and dug through that junk drawer in my kitchen for 40 minutes before realizing the cord I wanted had a busted tip and was in the trash bin all along. It got me thinking about how we keep broken cables way too long, mine was frayed and split at the bend but I still hoarded it for 6 months. How many of y'all hold onto dead cords like they'll magically fix themselves?
Oh man, forty minutes? That's brutal. But here's the thing, why do we even keep those cords in the first place? Like, what's the actual plan when you toss a frayed cable back in the drawer instead of just throwing it out right then and there? Do you think you're gonna magically learn how to solder one day and fix it? Because I had that same thought for like a year with this one charger, and it just sat there collecting dust until I finally snapped it in half out of pure frustration.
