Hot take: I was wrong about using my own zip ties on every job
For years, I carried a big bag of cheap zip ties and used them for everything, thinking I was saving the company money. Last month in Tampa, a homeowner pointed out the white ties I used on his gray siding looked terrible and were already fading after six months. He showed me the black, UV-rated ones the previous installer used, which still looked new. I realized I was focusing on cost over quality and making my work look bad. What specific brand of outdoor cable ties do you guys actually trust?

Cheap ties are a false economy.

Read an article once about how cheap ties just don't hold up. The fabric gets all wrinkly after one wear, the stitching comes loose, and the knot never looks right. You end up buying three of them in a year when one good silk tie from a proper brand lasts forever. It's like buying a shirt that falls apart in the wash.

Reminds me of a guy who used dollar store duct tape for everything on his truck. The whole thing looked like it was held together by old candy wrappers after one summer.
