I finally learned the hard way about buying cheap splitters online
Picked up a 4-pack of coax splitters for 12 bucks off some random site last month, figured a splitter is a splitter, right? Hooked one up at a customer's place in Phoenix and the signal just tanked, like 15 dB loss on the downstream. The other three went straight in the trash, so has anyone else found that the bargain splitters are always the ones that bite you?

That "a splitter is a splitter" line got me, cause I used to swear by the cheap ones too. But after watching my own signal crap out on a job down in Tucson, I flipped real quick, now I check the box for return loss before I even think about installing one.
