Took 20 minutes to fix 6 years of cable mess behind my TV, and the difference is honestly nuts
The rats nest behind my TV in my apartment on 5th street was so bad my roommate actually said it looked like a spider laid eggs back there. I finally caved two Sundays ago and grabbed a $15 roll of velcro tape plus a $9 pack of adhesive clips from the hardware store down the block. Twenty minutes of unplugging stuff, untangling, and grouping cables by device later, and I could actually see the wall again, no more guessing which black cord was which. What finally pushed me to do it was when my router kept dropping signal and I realized a power brick was sitting right on top of it. Has anyone tried those under desk cable trays, or is velcro plus clips good enough for most setups?

My cable situation behind the TV looked like a raccoon got in there and gave up halfway through building a nest. Every time I wanted to plug something in I had to just yank random cords and hope for the best. Velcro plus clips honestly did the job for me and I never bothered with a tray, mainly because I know I would never actually mount it and it would sit in a closet for a year. Grouping by device is the real trick though, that part made way more difference than any fancy holder.
