Discovered my copper grease tube had a built-in nozzle this whole time

After 15 years of smearing it on with a screwdriver and making a mess, I found the little cap on the bottom that twists off. I was regrinding a stuck helicoid on a Pentax 67 last week and figured I'd read the label for once. $9 tube, but the clean application saved me about 20 minutes of cleanup per lens. Anyone else miss stuff like that on tools they've used forever?

Honestly, I think the mess is half the point. Smearing it on by hand forces you to actually feel how much grease is going where, and that extra care matters on a helicoid. A nozzle just lets you get lazy and slop it on without paying attention.

Yeah that's exactly how I got mine dialed in, hand application makes all the difference.
