A guy at a yard sale showed me his cardboard suit of armor, and I still think about it
He said he built it from 23 moving boxes and a roll of duct tape over 2 weekends, and he wore it to a ren faire outside Portland, so has anyone else met a stranger whose cardboard project just stuck in your head for years?
Why would a cardboard suit stick with you for years though? It was boxes and tape, not some hand forged steel masterpiece. In two weekends you could build the same thing if you really wanted, so it is not like the guy had some rare skill nobody can copy. Plus ren faires are FULL of people in weird homemade outfits, so one more dude in brown armor would blend right into the crowd. I have seen guys in cardboard robot suits at comic cons and forgot them by lunch. Some stuff feels huge in the moment just because you were standing there bored at a yard sale.
