I used to think networking was just handing out business cards at events

For years, I would go to big conferences in Atlanta and just collect a stack of cards. About 6 months ago, I started focusing on just having one real conversation instead. I met a project manager at a small meetup, we talked about a specific software tool called Asana for 20 minutes, and he ended up connecting me to a job lead. Has anyone else found that fewer, deeper connections work better for them?
