Pro tip: I saw a concrete pour at a new office building in Springfield and the foreman was letting the new guys skip the slump test...
If you're new on a site and someone tells you to cut a corner like that, speak up or find a new crew, because that's how you get a call-back that costs everyone their bonus.

Look, I get why everyone's jumping on the foreman but sometimes a guy's just trying to keep the job moving when the truck's already on site and the batch is borderline. A little wiggle room on the slump test isn't going to turn a slab into a disaster if the crew knows what they're doing and the mix is consistent. You gotta weigh the cost of stopping everything for a retest against the tiny chance it actually fails down the road, and most times the risk is way overblown.

That foreman in Springfield is asking for a lawsuit.

Ugh, been there. I just kept a detailed log of every messed up thing my last boss said. It saved me when I finally went to HR.
