Just hit 1,000 linear feet of crown molding installed in my career

I was cleaning out my truck and tallied up all my old job sheets, and the number really surprised me. Some guys say that much trim work is a waste of time compared to bigger framing jobs, but I think it's a solid skill that pays the bills. Do you see a high trim count as a badge of honor or a sign you should branch out more?

Wow, that's a crazy amount of detail work. I get what @paul_morgan is asking though, did you actually measure each piece? Seems like a solid skill to have that keeps work steady.

Yeah, the "solid skill that keeps work steady" part really hits home. I see it all the time with my friends who do trades, like electricians or carpenters. The ones who are super careful with their measurements and prep almost never have those big, stressful delays or call-backs. It looks slow, but it ends up being faster in the long run.
