Couldn't give a good answer" is the good answer. It's just a habit, like putting on the same shoe first. No deeper meaning needed.

My buddy always puts his left shoe on first, says it feels wrong if he doesn't. I get what the_daniel is saying about habits, but sometimes there is a tiny reason. For my friend, it started when he broke his right ankle years ago and had to do left first during recovery. It stuck. So maybe not a deep meaning, but often a little story behind it.
