Took a full week to square up a crooked old wall, finally got it
Been fixing up a 1920s house in Portland and that back hallway wall was off by nearly an inch at the top. Spent 5 evenings shimming and rechecking with my 6-foot level, then plastered it smooth last Tuesday. Has anyone else dealt with old framing that just refuses to be straight no matter what you do?

Check your shims still holding after the plaster dried? Old fir framing moves with the seasons and that inch might come back by spring. Did you use any kind of flexible caulk around the edges to let it breathe?
