Hit 50,000 miles on my Leaf and the battery degradation was way less than I expected
I was preparing for the worst when my 2018 Leaf rolled past 50,000 miles last week, especially after reading all those horror stories online about early battery fade. Charged it up to full and the guess-o-meter showed 147 miles, which is only about 7 miles less than when I bought it new. For context, I live in Phoenix where it hits 115 degrees in summer, so I figured the heat would have wrecked it by now. Has anyone else seen better battery life than they anticipated in a hot climate?

Ruby is partially right (the guess-o-meter does fudge things a bit based on driving history), but it's still a solid indicator of overall health. After 50k miles in Phoenix heat, that small drop is actually pretty impressive - usually the first couple years are the worst for degradation. A 7 mile loss is basically nothing, especially compared to some early Leafs that lost 20-30% in much cooler climates. You might want to do a proper battery test with LeafSpy to see the actual state of health number, but the guess-o-meter is definitely not lying about you being in good shape.
