Burnt my budget on a 'cheap' lunch that wasn't even filling

Tried that new taco spot on 5th street that everyone's been hyping because they had $3 tacos. Got three of them and walked away still hungry after spending $12 with tax, what a joke. Anyone else find those tiny 'deal' portions just make you spend more elsewhere?

Wait you paid $4 per taco? My buddy hit that same spot last week and said the tacos were basically the size of his palm, not even joking. He ended up stopping at the gas station for a hot dog after and was so annoyed about it. I swear these places think we're all on some diet or something, just give us normal portions for the price and call it a day.

And this is exactly what I was reading about in that food blog last week @james92, they were saying how taco places are basically charging fancy restaurant prices now but still using street cart portions. It's a total rip if you ask me. Why would anyone pay four bucks for something you have to eat three or four of just to feel full? That's like twelve to sixteen dollars for a meal that should cost eight max. It feels like they're banking on the whole trendiness of the place rather than actually giving you your money's worth. I get that ingredients cost more now but come on, at some point you gotta ask yourself what you're actually paying for.
