Am I the only one who got burned by that 'miracle' creosote remover spray?

Spent $65 on a case, and it just made a sticky mess that took longer to clean than a normal sweep. What's the worst product you've wasted cash on?

Nina "had a total change of heart" after her sticky mess - but did you actually find a better way to clean your chimney after that, or did you just go back to the old brush and shovel method? I burned through two different brands before giving up entirely, and now I just set aside an extra hour for the manual sweep. How long did it take you to clean up the spray residue compared to a normal cleaning?

I used to be the person who swore by those chemical cleaners, convinced they were a real time-saver. After a similar sticky disaster with a different brand, I had a total change of heart. The cleanup was so bad it completely erased any supposed benefit. Now I just see them as an expensive way to make more work for yourself. It's a lesson I only had to learn once, even if it was a pricey one.
