Appreciation post: My old brush head snapped off inside a flue in Tacoma last Tuesday.
Had to improvise with a wire coat hanger and some pliers to fish it out. Anyone got a good brand for a more durable replacement?

Been there, but with a section of my chimney sweep rod. The cheap aluminum ones are basically disposable. You want a brush head with a solid steel core, not that hollow tube junk. Look for a one-piece welded design from a company that actually makes chimney tools, not just home center stuff. My last one from Black Magic has taken a beating for three seasons now and the threads are still perfect.

My aluminum rods have actually held up fine for years.
