Tried a shop vac for creosote removal instead of my usual hand brush setup and it cut my time on a 3-story job in half.
That chimney on Elm Street was caked so bad I was dreading the scraping, but the vac sucked up all the loose stuff in like 15 minutes, now I just scrubbed the glazed spots with the wire brush instead of fighting through everything - has anyone else swapped and noticed a difference on heavy soot jobs?

Heard a couple guys on a podcast say the same thing, they flipped to vacs and never looked back on big jobs. The key they mentioned was using a HEPA filter so the fine dust doesn't just blow back out. Did you swap out your filter or just run the stock one?

Whoa hold on, I gotta push back on this. You might be missing all the fine particles floating around in the air that settle right back down, and that shop vac is definitely not getting the deep stuff stuck in the brick joints like a good hand scrape will.
