Why does nobody talk about sweeping the smoke shelf first?
Started hitting the smoke shelf with my 6 inch poly brush before touching the firebox last Tuesday and knocked out a Columbia job in 40 minutes instead of my usual hour plus. Anyone else work top down like this or am I late to the party?

Skip the firebox entirely on light soot years and you save even more time.
