Finally hit 50 miles biked instead of driving this month

I was aiming for 30 but somehow ended up at 52 miles just by taking my bike to the grocery store and the library instead of my car. That's about 40 pounds of CO2 saved from my math, which feels pretty good for just pedaling around town. Has anyone else found a daily habit that accidentally boosted their numbers like this?

Nice work on crushing that 50 miles. I started just grabbing my bike for quick errands like that and now I'm up to like 80 miles a month without even trying. It's wild how those little trips add up way faster than you'd expect.

The "without even trying" part is so real. That's exactly what happened to me with those little trips. Actually @grant.richard, your comment reminded me of one time I decided to bike to the grocery store for just milk and bread, but then I remembered I needed cat litter too. I ended up strapping that giant bag to my handlebars and wobbling home like a cartoon character. It was ridiculous but now I always take my backpack. Those short rides really do sneak up on you though, before you know it you're planning your whole week around the bike.
