Found out customers rate food higher if the bag is still warm when it hits the door
I stumbled on a stat from a delivery app study saying orders that arrive above 120 degrees get about 0.4 stars more on average, which honestly tracks after I started wrapping my burgers in foil before the bag. A $12 insulated bag liner was the cheapest fix I have tried. Anyone else messing with heat retention, or am I overthinking a 5 minute drive?
I always figured heat was overrated and that people just wanted their food fast, but then I watched my own ratings sit at like 4.6 for months and couldn't figure out why. Started tossing a cheap liner in the bag and wrapping the sandwiches tight, and the number crept up to 4.8 without me changing anything else. Cold fries and soggy buns get blamed on the driver even when the drive was short, so that five minutes matters more than we want to admit. A warm bag makes people feel like the food just came off the line, and that feeling shows up in the stars. You are not overthinking it, you just got there before the rest of us did.
